Mr. Kishore Kumar Godisela, MSc, Batch 2007-09, got qualified in the interview for JRF at National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, and will be registered into PhD soon. He will be working under the guidance of Dr. Bhanuprakash Reddy. The guide has done notable scientific research in the fields of Eye Research and Nutrition.

Kishore kumar’s area of research will be Eye related findings and he works under the project titled “Findings to modulate Chaperone activity of Crystallin to combat Cataractogenesis,” at NIN, Hyderabad, India.

Mr. Kishore Kumar Godisela acquired Masters’ degree from the department last year, ie., May 2009. He cleared CSIR-LS twice and finally cleared, the coveted CSIR-JRF. During this time he applied for many institutes, gone through interviews, but went in vain. Last year, He almost acquired a position at Institute of Life Sciences, Hyderabad, But couldn’t acquired it.

DAAD Fellowship to Mr. C.H.GiriPrakash

Mr.CH Giriprakash (MSc Batch 2005-07), has been selected for DAAD fellowship for his project on, “Ion channels in the epithelia of Gut.” He wrote the proposal in conjunction with Prof. Ursula Seidler, Dept. of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology, Hannover Medical School, Hannover. The fellowship tenure is for 3years and he will be pursuing doctoral studies in the above said School. At present he is working as Project Assistant at IISC, Bangalore, India.

From Pondicherry University to Georg August University

Ms K.Vijayalakshmi (MSc Batch 2005-07) acquired masters’ degree from BMB department in May 2007. Thereafter, She worked as a Project Assistant at IISC, Bangalore, India. Now, She got the admission for PhD at Georg August University, Göttingen, and currently works on “Histone mRNA ployadenylation and its regulation in cancer development,” under the guidance of Prof. Steven  Johnsen, Dept. of Molecular Oncology, GZMB, Georg August University, Göttingen.

National Scholarship – Scientist Solutions

Ravi Teja V, MSc student of the batch 2008-10 has been selected for the scholarship of US$100 for his project proposal submitted to Scientist Solutions, India. His Project proposal on “Effects of Sesbania Grandiflora on Alcoholic rats” was adjudged one of the best, of the received proposals and he received applauds for his presentation abilities. He is currently doing MSc project under the guidance of Dr R Rukkumani, Assistant Professor, BMB, PU, India.

First Entry into DRDO Project

Suriyanarayanan B, M.Sc student of the batch 2007-09, got the admission as JRF in Dept of Biosciences, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu, India. He was selected based on his performance in DRDO-BU project interview happened in the later half of the year 2009. He then registered for PhD in December 2009.

His current area of research is on Nanotechnology, especially in carrying out Molecular analysis of Mycobacteria.

Gajendra Reddy as a Project Assistant

Gajendra Reddy, R, MSc student of the batch, 2007-09 has got the admission in Dept of Life Sciences, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, as Project Assistant under DBT-OU-ISLARE Program. He was placed in 4th position in a total of 14 selected candidates.

Srinu Pathivada of M.Sc Batch 2006-08 got admission for PhD in Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Leuven University Fertility Centre, Leuven, Belgium, under Prof. Thomas D’Hooghe, Director, Leuven University Fertility Centre.

 

About the Leuven University Fertility Centre

The Leuven University Fertility Centre (LUFC) has played a pioneering role in various fields; Belgium’s first IVF baby was born in 1984.

The LUFC has achieved very high pregnancy rates since 1999: approximately 30% implantation rate per embryo and 35-40% clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transfer (transferring 1-2 embryos only).

The LUFC and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are world famous for their clinical and research programmes in endometriosis, including laparoscopic surgery of advanced endometriosis of the bowel and ureter.

The LUFC also runs an internationally renowned centre for research related to stress and infertility.
