Ph.D Admission, 2011, in IISC, Bengaluru

Mr. Nagaraja M and Mr. Anil Kumar J, M.Sc. Batch 2009-11, have qualified themselves for the PhD admission in prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India. Mr. Nagaraja M, got selected in Dept. of Biochemistry and as well as in Dept. of Microbiology & Cell Biology, whereas Mr. Anil Kumar J, secured his admission in Molecular Biophysics Unit. Both of them were able to achieve this after successfully surpassing two rounds of interview.

Young Investigator Award – Mr.Shankar Sahu

Mr. Bhavani Shankar Sahu, MSc Batch 2005-07, who is currently pursuing doctoral studies in IIT Madras, has been awarded with NK Ganguly Young Investigator Award in Clinical Cardiology for his excellence in International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences (IACS), The 4th world Congress of International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences will incorporate CIMS-3C-CON and the Annual Joint International Conferences of International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences and International Society for Heart Research-India Section (IACS/ISHR), conducted by Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda at Vadodara, India, during Feb 1-2, 2011.

PhD Admission of Mr. Koteswara Rao

Mr. G.Koteswara Rao, MSc batch 2008-10, has got PhD admission in Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad. His admission was based on the interview conducted for a project, in which he got selected eventually.

At present he is working under the guidance of Dr.Manika Pal Bhadra, Scientist E1, Center for Cell Biology, Dept. of Chemical Biology, IICT, Hyderabad. Epigenetics in cancer, Micro RNA and Gene Silencing, and Therapeutic proteomics in Cancer and Drug screening are the areas of research being practised in the lab, currently taking Drosophila and Cell lines as models.
